Graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Winston-Salem (where he was taught by Taimur Sullivan). Further studies at Indiana University – Jacobs School of Music, under Otis Murphy and also courses in jazz.
Has appeared as a soloist with various orchestras, including the Indiana University Symphony Orchestra, the North Carolina Symphony Orchestra, and the Durham Symphony Orchestra. Member of a number of ensembles, including the Kenari Saxophone Quartet.
Has taken part in several competitions, as a soloist (e.g. North American Saxophone Alliance Solo Competition, 2012) and with his ensemble (e.g. Fischoff 2013 National Chamber Music Competition, J.C. Arriaga 2013 Chamber Music Competition, and Plowman 2013 Chamber Music Competition).
