After attending the Shanghai Conservatory (where he was taught by Hong Jing Li), studied further at the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester (where he was taught by Chien-Kwan Lin). Currently studying at Indiana University–Jacobs School of Music under Otis Murphy. Has impressed in a number of competitions, including the 8th LISMA International Music Competition (2011), the North American Saxophone Alliance Competition (2014), and the Vandoren Emerging Artist Competition (2014).

Has performed with several ensembles, including the Eastman Wind Orchestra, the SoundExchange Orchestra, and the NEO Orchestra.

Has taken part in master classes with Claude Delangle, Phillippe Geiss, Carrie Koffman, Jérôme Laran, and Timothy Roberts.
