Antonio Felipe-Belijar is a graduate of the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música in Madrid. He has impressed in the most eminent competitions, winning Second Prize at the 4th Concurso Internacional de Saxofón Villa de San Juan (1997), First Prize at the Concurso de Saxofón Villa de Benidorm (1999), the PACEM IN TERRIS International Music Competition in Bayreuth (2001), Third Prize and Second Prize at the Adolphe Sax International Competition in Dinant (2002 and 2006).

He has also obtained good results as a member of the Octavia Saxophone Quartet, winning First Prize at the 2nd International Yamaha Saxophone Quartet Contest and Second Prize at the Certamen Internacional Pedro Bote (2009) and the Concurs Josep Mirabent i Magrans (2011). He has performed in various countries, including Spain, Germany, Portugal, and Belgium, and has collaborated with renowned orchestras such as the Spanish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra (ORTVE), the Andrés Segovia Chamber Orchestra, the Community of Madrid Orchestra, and the Orchestra of the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival. He has been conducted by David Shallon, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Donald Runnicles, and Christoph Eschenbach. In 2005, Antonio Felipe- Belijar recorded an album, Knabenduett, with Julien Petit, as part of an ambitious project to record the complete works of Karlheinz Stockhausen, conducted by the master himself. He is also a member and Musical Director of the Sax Antiqua ensemble, which is exclusively made up of saxophones and specialises in early music. Antonio Felipe-Belijar has taught at the Alcalá de Henares Professional Conservatory and at the Francisco de Vitoria University. He currently teaches at the Amaniel Professional Conservatory in Madrid.
