Graduate of Busan Arts College (where he was taught by Sunghwan Lee and Bumhoon Lee). Currently studying at Seoul National University under Hyangim Kim.

Has impressed in a number of competitions, including the Seoul National University Competition (2009 and 2011), the Hanyang National University Competition (2012), and the Kyunghee University Music Competition (2012).
